Join us for the 4th Online Presentation of the 2025 DVTA WEBINAR SERIES:
On Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, from 7 PM to 8:30 PM (EST) via Zoom
CONSECUTIVE WITHOUT NOTE-TAKING
Presented by: Eliane Sfeir-Markus
Presentation Overview:
Consecutive Without Note-Taking
This presentation explores the techniques and cognitive skills that strengthen interpreters’ ability to perform consecutive interpretation with precision and confidence. While note-taking is a valuable tool, interpreters must also cultivate strong memory and active listening skills to ensure accuracy and fluid delivery.
This workshop focuses on strategies to enhance short-term memory, organize and retain information, visualize sequences, and improve concentration and recall. Participants will engage in a variety of hands-on exercises designed to sharpen cognitive agility and accuracy—activities that can easily become part of an interpreter’s individual practice routine.
Participants are encouraged to bring a recorder and notepad for practice activities.
