KEY TOPICS
Ever wonder about the significance of “The record” in judicial proceedings?
What is a “Term of art” and how is it produced?
What is the importance of a “Functional Equivalent” and where do you find one?
What is “Situational Control” and when and how do you exercise it?
What words do you use to intervene, explain, request and refuse in the course of your work, and how do you say them for maximum effect and minimal impact?
How do you convey a term that describes something that does not exist in the target language?
What is the “Consecutaneous” mode and how do feel about it?
What distinguishes the “Adversarial” and the “Inquisitorial” legal systems and how does that affect you?
If you are curious about key words about our work, come and bring questions, words and concepts that may puzzle you.
We will learn, discuss and connect while celebrating the joys of the work we do!
